Online Workshop Series with Givi Abesadze:
Kicking off our exploration of Georgian polyphony, we embarked on an unforgettable online journey with the renowned Georgian professional singer, Givi Abesadze. Together, we delved into the fundamental aspects of Georgian vocal traditions, learning about the intricate harmonies and rich cultural heritage behind this captivating art form. Participants had the opportunity to engage with Givi Abesadze, gaining valuable insights and techniques to enhance their vocal skills. It was a truly inspiring experience that left us in awe of the beauty and complexity of Georgian polyphony.
In-Person Workshop Series with Shalva Makharashvili:
Continuing our exploration, we had the pleasure of hosting an in-person workshop led by another esteemed Georgian professional musician, Shalva Makharashvili with members of 2Shalva. Guided by Shalva’s expertise, participants immersed themselves in the soul-stirring melodies of Georgian polyphony, learning and mastering a traditional Georgian song.
But that’s not all – our workshop wasn’t just about music! We also treated our participants to a taste of authentic Georgian cuisine, adding a flavorful touch to our cultural experience.
